Chapter I
Who we are
We are two Gen-Z founders who grew up watching the people we loved — mothers navigating perimenopause alone with Google, fathers going borderline diabetic while working their hardest, friends drowning in conflicting wellness advice — and thought: the system wasn't built for them. It was built for averages, for populations, for the 40-year-old white male in a Pfizer trial.
We are building the health operating system that India — and by extension, the world — was never given. Not a fitness app. Not a supplement brand. Not a wearable. A living, breathing, always-on intelligence layer that sits between your biology and your ambition, and quietly does the work of a decade of personal health discovery in your first 90 days.
"We didn't name it after an algorithm. We named it after a feeling — the moment you remember who you actually are."
Svatma (स्वात्मा) — for the woman. For the inner radiance, the light of self, the soul's original state before the PCOS diagnosis, before the perimenopause, before the burnout. Antara (अन्तर) — for the man. For the depth within, the interior life, the version of himself that exists beneath the protein shakes and performance metrics.
Together: a His & Her health OS, rooted in Sanskrit wisdom, powered by the most sophisticated AI infrastructure ever built for the Indian body.
Founder Note
We are building this in Bangalore — the only city in India where a deep-tech health startup can simultaneously access AIIMS-tier clinical minds, IISc-level engineering talent, a city of early adopters, and the legacy of Ayurveda in the same postcode. We are a bootstrapped company, and this is our clarity document: for ourselves, for our investors, and for every person who has ever Googled "why am I always tired" at 2am.
Chapter II
The wound in the market
Here is what the wellness industry does not tell you: it was never designed to make you well. It was designed to keep you consuming wellness. Every fragmented app, every celebrity collagen brand, every 10-minute gynaecologist consultation is a single piece of a puzzle you were never given the box for.
The Indian consumer is particularly exposed to this fragmentation. She downloads a period tracker, a fitness app, a food diary, a meditation app, books a telehealth consultation, buys turmeric capsules from a D2C brand, reads a thread about inositol for PCOS — and at the end of six months, she knows less about herself than when she started. Because none of these pieces talk to each other. None of them know her grandmother's hormonal history. None of them understand that the Greek yoghurt her fitness influencer swears by ferments differently in a South Indian gut biome.
"Wellness is lonely and confusing. It lacks emotional context." — The reality: late diagnoses, minimal risk stratification, zero ritual coaching.
Meanwhile, the numbers are staggering and about to become catastrophic. India's 60+ population will reach 33% of total population by 2080. The old-age dependency ratio — currently 9.5% — will hit 44.8% by 2080. By 2045, every fifth Indian will be 60+. These are not future problems. The woman in her 40s managing perimenopause today will be 60 in 2046. The startup founder with borderline diabetes today will be the healthcare emergency of 2040.
And yet the market response is: wearables and supplement brands. Clinical-grade data with no context. Lifestyle vibes with no science. Nobody sits in the top-right quadrant — clinical science and holistic context — because building there is genuinely hard. It requires Ayurvedic knowledge, clinical partnerships, AI infrastructure, behavioural design, and cultural fluency simultaneously.
That is exactly where we live.
Chapter III
What we're building
Svatma & Antara is a living health operating system. Not an app. Not a platform. An OS — because the word "app" implies something you open when you remember to, and what we are building is something that runs underneath your life, the way iOS runs underneath your iPhone.
The architecture has four layers, and they compound on each other:
I
The Foundation
The Full-Body Intake: Your Complete Health Portrait
At onboarding, we don't ask you how many calories you eat. We take everything. Your medical history. Your family's medical history — mother's hormones, father's metabolic markers. Every wearable you've ever owned. Every app you've logged food in. Every gym programme you've abandoned. The AI does not judge the Greek yoghurt in your food diary. It simply ingests the entire story, and builds what we call the Current Self Map: every problem, every root cause, every bandaid solution you've tried. For the first time, you see yourself completely.
II
The Intelligence
Detection → Insight → Action: The Clinical AI Layer
The system maps your biomarkers to both Western diagnostics and Ayurvedic dosha profiling — not because Ayurveda is spiritual, but because its 5,000-year dataset on Indian physiological types is the most granular population-specific health knowledge base ever assembled, and modern ML can finally extract it. Imbalance identification, early signal detection, root cause explanation, dosha + biology mapping. Then: a personalised action stack — skincare, nutrition, movement, supplementation — calibrated to your specific biology, not a demographic average.
III
The Interface
The 3D Digital Twin: You, But Becoming
You set a 5-year goal — not "lose 5 kg by Diwali," but a real, expansive vision of what your body and life could feel like. The twin renders it in 3D. You can see where you are. You can see where you're going. On the days you don't feel like it, the twin speaks to you — in your tone, in the language you'd use to gently talk yourself back into the room. Because the voice inside the twin is not a generic health coach. It is a version of you, trained on everything you've told us about how you like to be spoken to. The Tamagotchi Effect, supercharged: you care for the twin, the twin helps you care for yourself.
IV
The Ecosystem
The Physical World: Drinks, Food, Rituals, Space
Every insight must become action. The closed loop runs from digital understanding to physical product: functional health drinks (Ayurveda + clean chemistry stack), balanced food bowls calibrated to your dosha + absorption profile, IV drip therapy for recovery, sound healing, menstrual yoga, curated grocery lists, meal prep subscriptions. At Year 5: a physical health longevity club — acres of land, a 2-week to 2-month retreat programme. Come back home to yourself.
The Core Philosophical Shift
We measure success not in "kg lost in 2 weeks" but in days that feel like decades of progress. A 5-year goal is not a destination. It is a direction. The avatar grows with you — through new life phases, new health challenges, new versions of who you're becoming. The system that helps a 24-year-old manage PCOS will adapt, without friction, to help a 34-year-old navigate a first pregnancy, and again at 44 when perimenopause arrives. One OS. One continuous relationship. A lifetime.
Chapter IV
Who we're building for
We are not building for "health-conscious consumers." We are building for real people in specific moments of biological crisis and aspiration — people who already know they need something, but have never been offered it in a form they could use.
Her · Mid 20s
The PCOS Navigator
Brilliant, overworked, living on coffee and deadlines. She has a diagnosis that her gynaecologist explained in 8 minutes. Her fitness app tells her to eat less. Her period tracker tells her she's late again.
Pain: Fragmented data, no root cause explanation, zero ritual coaching. Lonely in her wellness.
Him · Early 20s
The High-Performer Hiding
Gym 5 days a week. Looks fit. Loading synthetic creatine, protein powder, alcohol on weekends, cigarettes for stress. His bloodwork would horrify a cardiologist.
Pain: No visibility into what he's actually doing to his endocrine system. Performance metrics masking internal damage.
Him · Late 40s
The Entrepreneur on the Edge
Fifth startup. Borderline diabetic, high BP, high cholesterol. Knows he needs to fix it. Cannot find a programme that understands he needs to perform at the same time as he heals.
Pain: Every health intervention costs cognitive bandwidth he doesn't have. Needs a system that works with his life, not against it.
Her · 40s
The Invisible Transition
Perimenopause. Mood shifts, sleep disruption, metabolic changes — nobody explained that this starts in the 40s, that it's not "menopause," that it's a 10-year hormonal recalibration.
Pain: Medical system offers her either HRT or silence. She needs context, a community, and a roadmap that's been built for her specifically.
Him · Late 60s
The Active Elder
CEO. Still building. Still contributing. Wants longevity — not just years, but quality years. He's already tried everything. Now he wants the thing that integrates everything.
Pain: Longevity medicine in India either means a luxury concierge he can't trust, or nothing at all. No option between "expensive and vague" and "do nothing."
Universal
The Whole Family
Because a mother's hormonal history predicts a daughter's. Because a father's metabolic markers are a son's early warning system. Health is not individual. It's generational.
The insight: when you onboard, you onboard with your family's data. The system draws the thread between generations — and breaks the cycle.
Chapter V
The ecosystem
The product is not one thing. It is a closed loop — starting from a sip, growing into a ritual, and eventually becoming the architecture of a life.
1
Entry Point · Day 0
The Health Drink — Ayurveda meets Clean Chemistry
The first touchpoint is a sachet. A functional health drink — formulated on the principle that every sip is a micro-dose of the insight your twin has generated. The AI reads your data, recommends the formulation, the drink delivers it. Dosha-specific, cycle-aware, PCOS-conscious, anti-androgenic where required. Mosambi extract, kojic acid, adaptogenic herbs, a clean supplement stack. This is your daily physical ritual — and it feeds data back into the system. Speak your feeling → AI interprets → get your prescription → create your drink.
2
Food as Medicine
The Food Bowl — Calibrated for Absorption
Swap the rice-heavy, carb-dominant default Indian meal with a balanced food bowl designed to maximise absorption of the drink you're taking. Meal prep subscriptions. Curated grocery ingredient lists. Recipes that understand that your body absorbs iron differently when you're in the luteal phase, and that your gut microbiome needs different fibre compositions depending on your dosha. Food is not fuel. Food is information.
3
Ritual & Recovery
Premium Club Membership
Sound healing. IV drip therapy for recovery and longevity. Low-intensity yoga calibrated to your menstrual phase. Breathwork sessions. Expert consultations — not 10-minute slots, but deep-context conversations where the clinician already has your complete data portrait before you walk in the door. The Elder Sister (Akka/Didi) model: supportive, wise, culturally fluent, context + care. Not clinical and intimidating. Not just numbers.
4
The 3D Twin
Avatar Progress — The Tamagotchi Effect
Every step toward the 5-year goal charges the avatar. The twin glows. You see yourself becoming. The twin speaks on derail days — gently, in your own voice, at your own pace. It's not motivational-poster energy. It's the version of you that already made it, leaning back and telling you exactly what you needed to hear. Diminished → action → instant glow. The loop that makes health feel like play.
5
Year 5 Vision
The Longevity Club — Come Back Home to Yourself
Acres of land. Peace. A 2-week to 2-month immersive programme for deep reset, peak recalibration, and the kind of clarity you only find when you stop running. Not a spa. Not a hospital. A place where every protocol has been pre-loaded with your decade of data, and the programme is built entirely around who you specifically are — and who you're still becoming.
Chapter VI
The moat
Deep tech investors ask one question: why can't this be copied? The answer is not the technology alone. The technology can be replicated. What cannot be replicated is what compounds underneath it.
I.
The Data Flywheel
Every user who joins contributes to the richest, most culturally specific health dataset ever assembled on the Indian population. Generational hormonal data, dosha-biomarker correlations, Indian food absorption profiles, PCOS phenotype clusters. This dataset does not exist anywhere in the world. We are building it, and it gets more valuable with every user. After 100,000 users, no one else can build what we know.
II.
The Heritage-Tech Integration
We are the only company in the world building at the intersection of clinical diagnostics, Ayurvedic intelligence, and AI-powered personalisation — with cultural fluency baked in. The moat is not just data. It is the unique integration of Indian heritage (trust) with future tech (diagnostics). Trust takes years to build. Wearables companies do not have Ayurvedic credibility. Supplement brands do not have clinical infrastructure. We are building both, simultaneously.
III.
The Longitudinal Relationship
A fitness app is used for 6 weeks. A health OS is used for life. We grow with every life phase transition. The system that manages a user's PCOS at 24 adapts to her pregnancy at 32, her perimenopause at 44, her longevity protocol at 65. The switching cost is not subscription lock-in. It is the terrifying prospect of starting over with a decade of health context from scratch. We become the memory of the body.
The competitive landscape looks like this: wearables own the top-left quadrant (clinical data, fragmented context). Supplement brands own the bottom-left (lifestyle vibes, fragmented science). The top-right quadrant — clinical science and holistic context — is empty. Not because no one wants it. Because no one has been able to build it. Until now.
Chapter IX
Geography as strategy
The three-city structure is not accidental. Each geography does a specific job in the company's architecture — and together, they create a foundation that is simultaneously local enough to trust and global enough to scale.
Bangalore
Build · Launch · Validate
Home base. Engineering talent from IISc, IIIT, NITs. Deep Ayurvedic knowledge (Karnataka is one of the last states where classical Vaidyas still practice). Early-adopter consumer culture. FSSAI proximity. Medical college partnerships. The city that built Flipkart, Zepto, and CRED — and where health-conscious, high-income millennials are already spending ₹5,000/month on fragmented wellness. We consolidate that spend.
Malaysia
Clinical Network · Southeast Asia Gateway
An existing base of clinics and a diaspora population with deep Indian cultural roots and Western clinical exposure. Malaysia is the bridge between Ayurvedic trust and hospital-grade credibility. The clinic network here accelerates our clinical validation at lower cost, and opens the Southeast Asian market — where the Indian diaspora is large, wealthy, and health-anxious in exactly the ways we solve for.
Singapore
IP · Capital · Global HQ
The IP holding entity sits in Singapore. This is standard deep-tech architecture for Indian founders raising from Silicon Valley — Singapore holding structure is familiar to US and Asian investors, provides clean IP protection, and opens access to GIC, Temasek, and global health-tech funds. Singapore is also where we go to raise Series B when India proves out. The entity costs less than ₹2L to set up and is the single most important strategic move at the seed stage.
